2016 Brut Rosé Sparkling Wine

The nose opens with complex aromas of dried rose, spicy red apple, strawberry, toffee caramel, yeasty brioche and toasted almond. The palate is fresh and assertive with loads of bright acidity adding juiciness and precision to the fresh fruit impression. Though bottled with 6 grams/Liter of dosage, the mouthfeel is uncompromisingly dry with a lingering, complex finish that repeats and reinforces the clean, refreshing palate.
Inspired by the great grower Champagnes, this wine is made in the traditional méthode champenoise entirely in-house at Patz & Hall from grape pressing, tirage bottling, aging, riddling, and disgorging. This 2016 wine is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from two vineyards. The Pinot Noir is Swan Selection grown at Moses-Hall Vineyard, located along an ancient gravel-strewn streambank in the coolest part of southern Carneros in Napa Valley. The Chardonnay is Dijon #76 from Gap’s Crown Vineyard, located on the western flank of Sonoma Mountain. Both sites produced fantastic sparkling wine grapes in the 2016 vintage.
