2015 North Coast Brut Cuvee Sparkling Wine
This is a complex and elegantly structured sparkling wine with a nose of toasted almond, Meyer lemon peel, yeasty brioche and green apple. On the palate, a profound richness is tempered by mouthwatering acidity that supports unctuous flavors of white peach and tangerine along with lingering caramel-toffee notes on the uncompromisingly dry finish.
Inspired by the great grower Champagnes, this sophisticated sparkling wine was made in the traditional méthode champenoise using fruit from two great vineyards. It combines 41% Clone #76 Chardonnay from the acclaimed Gap’s Crown Vineyard and 59% Chardonnay from the old vines at Dutton Ranch-Rued Vineyard, planted in 1969. Both sites are in extremely cool locations, and in the chilly 2015 vintage produced superb fruit for this world-class sparkling wine.
