Santa Lucia Highlands

Jane & Eddie Pisoni began farming vegetables in the Salinas Valley in 1952, before their son, Gary, extended the family's operations into viticulture when he began cultivating grapes within the neighboring Santa Lucia Highlands. Today, he carries forward the family legacy with his sons, Jeff and Mark, and the Pisoni name continues to inspire growers in the region.

The Pisoni Vineyard is situated above the Salinas Valley near the town of Gonzales, in Monterey County. Perched on a sandy mesa, Pisoni is the benchmark for superlative Pinot Noir from the Santa Lucia Highlands. Reflecting a perfect convergence of aspect, site and soil, it has consistently produced one of Patz & Hall’s most complex, extracted and amazingly intense wines.

The Soberanes Vineyard, located in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands, builds upon a tradition of high-quality winegrowing. The vineyard is a special project between the Pisoni and Franscioni families, whose friendship spans three generations and are known for the Pisoni, Garys', Rosella’s and Sierra Mar Vineyards. We made this wine for the first time in 2018.  We are thrilled to be working with this outstanding St. Lucia Highlands vineyard after admiring other Soberanes Vineyard wines for years.
