2011 Chardonnay
Our 2011 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay embodies the diversity of world-class vineyards in the acclaimed Sonoma Coast appellation, and the talents of the gifted winegrowers who farm these sites. Combining fruit from a who’s who of the appellation’s most renowned vineyards, this cuvée offers fresh and spicy aromas of pear, apricot, pippen apple and pineapple, mingled with notes of honeycomb, shortbread, brown sugar and clove. On the palate, the flavors are focused and energetic, with layers of quince and citrus, as well as subtler undertones of ripe peach and marmalade. The long, cool growing season and extra-slow ripening has added to this wine’s cut and complexity. At the same time, low yields have underscored its concentration—all of which are apparent on the mid-palate, where pure flavors, mouthwatering acidity and excellent minerality add precision and focus.
